A fyi on Spic N Span

In doing some research on where to buy the highly recommended powered formula of Spic n Span to clean the roof with I came across this website from the mfg. Not sure how accurate it is, but I'm going to check my the stores in my local area. I found the "Classic 27oz box" is to be on sale in my local area.

I've seen Spic n' Span mentioned many times as the cleaner of choice for the rubber roofs. Why is this this the case? Why are other soaps/detergents not to be used?

I'm not hijacking this thread but I just had my first annual inspection of my roof and the technician said that you should not wash your roof for TWO years and then do the full Dicor treatment. I think I may wash it any how with something mild and not scrub it too hard.
We keep our camper under a metal cover all winter so it's still pretty clean.

Because it actually worked pretty good. In my experience I have found the powered types of cleaners work whole lot better than liquids. I have seen that most dealers use just plain powered laundry soap in their washbays, so my thinking is SpicnSpan is probably very similar. I wouldn't use it on the high gloss sides for fear of scratches.

It will also take your wax off where it runs down the sides if you don't keep it rinsed off
real often.

It is recommended because it works. I do not recall it having any abrasives. I use it to clean and strip my vinyl floor of all old wax etc before applying Future brand floor polish.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" />

If you use it on the roof be sure to retreat the roof as it will remove everything. Also use care as it will make the roof very very slick even after rinsing.

All of the fore mentioned is why I use Solvit and not spic &amp; span.

Yep Im on the Solvit train too, it works great with very little product in the bucket.

Where do you buy Solvit? Is it the citrus based or the pine?

I don't know where you are located in WI. but Solvit is made in Madison.
If you can't find it in a store in your area, call Liz at --1-800-276-8102 she will either be able to tell you where you can find a store with it, or she will sell you a case of it.

I don't read of many on this form "treating" their roof. What product are you referring to to treat the roof. Over the years I've read that any roof treatments are unnecessary with a Dicor roof and that only a mild soap is needed.
I have found several soaps that work quite well but I still can't seem to understand why Spic n' Span would be any better. Not being argumentative just trying to get a little learning here.

Cleaned my roof with Spic-n-span today. It is cleaner than when I started but not as much as I expected. Next time will order, use Solvit.
