I agree completely.

We have a 30 amp unit and were in a cg a week or so ago and the breaker would trip if we tried to use the microwave and ac at the same time and the electric water heater kicked on. We usually are fine with this load but apparently the cg we were in was underpowered. We just made sure we shut off the water heater when we used the microwave and it was fine. There were quite a few posts about the double breakers tripping a few years back (maybe longer). I had the issue on a regular basis and everyone had success correcting the problem by moving things around in the breaker box. I did something with mine but to be honest, don't remember what I did! I just know I don't usually have problems anymore.

I will second effective power management on a 30-amp service. Like a few others with 30-amp service, I did the "circuit breaker mod", to separate out the high amp draw devices onto to their own individual breakers. I also replaced all of the interior lighting with LED to reduce the load. During the summer, I run the water heater on propane so the the AC has a good supply of juice and not worry when the wife needs to run the hair dryer. I did invest in a plug in power meter and and others have said, some parks have better juice than others....

Well we moved sites yesterday and no issues with the AC breaker tripping. Even ran it with the microwave and hot water heater. Must have been the site. Will invest in a new multimeter and plug in volt meter when I return home at the end of this week.

Good to hear that was the problem and everything is working now. That's why I got a hard-wired surge protector for our new unit that monitors the voltage as well. Too much variation from campground to campground.
