Adding ac
New to fourm, hoping to get a better answer than what i got from manufacture. I have a 2013 crossroads cruiser cf34ss....30 amp. I have a fan in the bedroom...is that area structually sound to put an ac in where the fan is?
I know its not wired for it, and i know there are no ducts for air....im not worried about that.
Thanks for any and all responses

I would think you should be able to. A lot of other members have added an AC to the upstairs.

I believe that the roof trusses are the same for all Cruisers. So IMO, your roof should be able to support an ac. Wiring is another issue, esp with only a 30amp service.

Bedroom AC
That's my thinking as well. I am going to be running a separate 20amp line for the ac....separate from the 30amp system. I think it now is just a matter of size to install....as I would like it quite as possible. Some say go big, some say the smaller unit (output). I do know the smaller, the more quite.
Thanks

I would think you can add the ac unit to the bedroom. I have seen campers here on the forum adding the wiring to a 20 amp plug on the power pole. If you decide to wire it into the trailer I would think you could only run one ac at a time.

IMO I would not install a very large one. The bedroom being such a smaller area, you might freeze yourself too much.

There were a couple days that I thought I was going to need a second ac unit. But after some inspection I was able to fix some leaks in the ducted unit and added some tint in the sky lights. My unit is staying cooler now.

Second AC
Thanks all for the responses...I finally know that the area is built for another unit...low profile.

I don't know if things have changed over the years or not, but the low profile use to be prone to icing up easier then the regular ones.

I installed a coleman polar cub on our 08 cf32bl bedroom. It is rated at 9200btu with the non vented interior mount. It suppliments the 15000 btu A/C unit that came with the rv. We are here in Louisiana where extreme heat and humidity are normal, these two units together keep the 5er very comfortable. I say it was the perfect match.

That sounds like the road i will take. Good reviews on the coleman 9200...plus low profile..needed. My intention is to run 10 ga wire through ceiling space to closet, down to storage area where it will run through a 20 amp breaker, to a marine type shore connection (male plug)....
Hope it works that way
Thanks
