Could anyone give me step by step instructions, or point me to a website on adjusting trailer breaks? I know it's a simple job but need some help the first time. Thanks.

As I recall, lift the wheel off the ground so it spins. Using a brake adjusting tool in the slot on the back bottom of the brake plate, turn the star wheel (while slowly spinning the wheel by hand) until you just start to hear the brake shoes hitting the drum. Then back off the star wheel until the rubbing goes away.

you will likely need to remove a small rubber cap from the back side of the brake drum. the star wheel is behind the slot (under the rubber cap).

I have always been told to adjust them just until slight drag is felt on the wheel and leave it. the shoes will wear in.

Thanks. Looks like "a piece of cake". I'm guessing turning the star wheel either up or down will quickly tell me which direction is tightening/loosening.
