Ok, I had the B&W hide-a-ball with companion hitch installed on my 2005 F250. I'm very happy with it. However, In order to do that they had to remove my Firestone air lift bag system. I tried to find a way to modify them so I could reinstall them but it's not going to work. Any ideas out there on a system to help get additional support over the rear axle. Thanks
yep. firestone definitly makes two version of brackets. the bottom mounts on mine attach to the leaf spring blok perch. directly under the frame rail...not inboard of the rail.
Just remember Timbrens set 1" or less from the bottom of your frame. Any weight in your box and you are hitting them can be a choppy ride. A friend of mine had them and the weight of his hitch and generator made him hit. He switched to air bags.
Guess it depends on what size (tonage)truck you have. I have had 1000 lbs of corn in the bed of my truck with the hitch and mytool box and just touched the Timbrens to the axle. I drove 200 miles that way and did not notice a difference in ride.
