Angled Living Room Slide Roof

My 2014 Cruiser 305SK has the angled roof on the living room slide. I would like to add a patio awning to this slide and was wondering if anyone has done this and if so what type of awning they used and any issues that they ran into.

If you are talking about like a vaulted ceiling like the Forestriver Silverbacks have then that might be a little difficult. Unless they made provisions for an awing by adding a backer that goes straight across you really wouldn't have anything to anchor the awning rail to. There would also have to be some type of backer running down each side of the slide to anchor the awning arms to. If you try just screwing it into the wall with no backer the screws will pull out.

I've never seen slide toppers on any Silverback or your model. And that is what I would want on such a unit. In fact there is a Silverback unit that I really like, except for the cathedral slide outs in the living room and bedroom makes it a deal breaker.

As for an awning, there doesn't seem to be a practical way to mount one above the slide out. However, it might be possible to add a smaller awning directly to the slide out if the windows are low enough. It would require finding all the studs to carefully attach the drip rail. And the awning arms would need to attach to the side trim of the slide out. There are small awning that are made for truck campers and very small trailers that would probably work, they may only extend out 6ft, but that is more than a normal awning will extend when attached to the trailer body.

This is a pic of the angled roof on slide.

I have the same but don't know if a patio awning could be attached. The two different height windows would be the problem. My pic in my signature is another angle.

Yea, that is a real problem. Maybe if the top aluminum trim panel on the slide out could be extended on the 'downhill' side, then maybe a small awning could be attached horizontally to the slide out.
