We have a 2012 Sunset Trail Reserve, the other day I noticed there were black ants getting in it some how. Any idea how I can stop this?

Knock on wood I have not seen anything yet, mine has been stored for a month now, taking her out next week for a month. I use the "Home Defense" all around the outside and then I lay a track of it down all along the inside also. It has always worked for me at my home so I'm hoping it will work with the trailer also.

good luck,
Jim

x2. They will often climb up anything that touches the ground. I spray around the camper at every campsite and at the storage lot paying special attention to the wheels, stab jacks and tongue. I use the raid version but either will work. I also spray around my patio mat and picnic table. I have survived some pretty ant infested campsites so far..... knock on wood.

I heard a ring of comet cleanser will deter ants as well, bought a container, haven't tried it yet.

baby powder works good too. If I see lots of ants I circle the tires and anything touches the ground. So far so good.

Don't forget to treat the water, sewer and especially the shore power cords/hoses. Ants seem to love these 'superhighways'.

If boric acid will do the job----in my opinion that's the way to. No nasty chemicals.
Just remember when you use any pest aside, if it will kill bugs, it sure isn't doing you any good.

Vasoline on the power cord works well. They won't cross it. It is a little messy though.

Several years ago, we had an infestation of tiny ants. We used Terro. It's a liquid which you put on little pieces of cardboard. They love the stuff and take it back to the nest and kills them. Within a few days we never saw another ant. We still have the same bottle and use it at home on occasion. Lasts a long time.

Another old recipe is borax powder and cocoa powder.

Try TERRO ant killer, you can get it at Home Depot.
