Unhappy Battery Drain

I recently added a second battery to our 2012 Z-211RD so, in seems as if, with this tandem setup, I should have double the power for dry docking; however, with just the unit parked at home, the battery charge indicator has been going from showing full charge to only 1/4 charge in less than a day. The only thing I can tell should be drawing power is the light on the radio. Am I missing something? Is there anything else that might be drawing power?

How old is the original battery? Did you by any chance load test it, or check with a hydrometer? If there is a weak cell in it that could be an issue. Is the new battery (new), is it the same type and size? I'm guessing it is a 12v seeing as you stated you"added a second battery". I like to encourage people to go with two (2) 6v deep cycle when they are dry camping a lot. They will hold up better.

There is quite a few things in the camper that are phantom draws. Not only the light in the radio--there is a LP detector, I don't know if you have the heat strip around the door on your fridge or not, any little light that is any of the equipment. I'm sure there is more but can't think of them right now. Hopefully some one will chime in that has the full list.

I have two (2) Trojan T105 6v in the camper. It can sit out here in the shed for a month and the batteries have more than 3/4 charge in them.

Also to be added to the list is the booster for the TV antenna, If your like me I forget to turn it off sometimes. I would invest in a battery disconnect. After putting one on my the 5ver can sit in storage for a couple weeks without a problem and its a simple knife blade switch installed on the battery post.
