Back to the original problem. Do all the things they mentioned, i.e. twist on valves, bucket, etc. But I'd try to stop the source by wrapping a bungee cord around the black valve to keep it from working loose. Or even perhaps rotating it physically. If gravity is pulling the valve one way, maybe you can reverse it or halt it with a bungee.

Took camper in had long discussion with service mgr. Also explain that the inside smells like a septic tank. Some how leakage has gotten in the underbelly. He is going to find what seems the problem. The wife is suppose to be ordering a valve, regardless that's going will give him a chance to correct the problem.

We had a problem with the black tank on the Jayco we owned. The pipe going into the tank was not lined up properly with the hole in the tank. It wasn't a problem until Hubby filled the tank completely as a cleaning measure and the tank dropped a bit. Sewage spilled out after that. We had to have the black tank replaced.

We did buy the Valterra twist on valve as per recommendations from previous posters. The only problem we have had with our Cruiser is sometimes the valve does not close all the way and sewage fills the pipe. When we were going to dump, we had a mess. That will not happen any more!
