bolts poking through roof?

We are in the process of our spring maintenance, checking the caulking, etc. My husband cleaned the roof and discovered something that looks like bolts or something poking through the roof. This needs immediate attention. Anyone had this issue before? How is it dealt with? Is Eternabond the answer?

Here is a picture of the damage:

Are you sure they are not staples? It looks like the area in the photo is the side radius aluminum panel and those are held on by staples. Pretty common issue although yours seems to be the first I remember of the staples actually poking through the membrane. Since there is already a few holes, you could pound them down and seal the holes and then cover the area with eternabond tape.

Thanks. We went to a small, local RV dealer who sold us some tape (not Eternabond) to put on the holes and some caulking to put on the edges of the tape. My husband did this.

I mentioned the stapes idea and he agreed they could be staples. So tomorrow he is getting up there with a rubber mallet to pound the others down, as quite a few are doing the same thing.
