Has anyone put a ceiling fan over their bed in their Rv. Esp a fifth wheel. I know there's not much ceiling height but I was thinking of putting this in:http://www.lowes.com/pd_331091-88854...15C=1068649511

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds like a good idea as the bedroom gets a little stuffy. Where were you thinking to get electric? Second AC wiring?

Yup,, 2nd ac wiring. not sure if I can do it. Camper is in for warranty service and won't have it back till end of next week. then I could do some searching for wire.

My other action is a wall mount fan.

Does your unit have 30 amp or 50 amp service?

Mark, a couple of things to consider, you have to be on shore power or generator. It is one directional and is only on-off by remote control. If you are stationary for long periods with 110 volt it would probably be fine. Fantastic offers a 12v portable 3 speed fan can be run on 110 with a 110 to 12v adapter. Cost about $90 but certainly not as attractive. It is at CW. Best of luck on your choise let us know what you do.

Tommy, if you only have 30 amp service I doubt you are pre-wired for a second AC unit but you may have the wiring for a vent fan. In that case you might could install a 12v ceiling fan.

When your main tripped was the AC on when they used the microwave? If so you may have to move the AC to it's own breaker if you have room in your breaker box. Several people on here with 30 amp service have had to do that. I did that on our old Cruiser and solved the breaker popping issue.

I never dry camp. My main concern is clearance above the bed. I don't want to pop up in bed and hit my head. I like that it is controlled by a remote, don't have to worry about wiring a switch. Thanks for your input.

I have the MaxxAir Deluxe with remote. http://www.maxxair.com/products/maxxfan/maxxfan.php

This will mount in the existing opening and you should have 12 volt wires already there to plug it into. The remote hasan LED screen that tells you the current temp. You can set it for auto and it will open and close atthe temp you set or you can open and close it using the remote. You can set the fan to run in forward or reverse and you have 5 different fan speeds. I like to open a couple of windows at the opposite end of the camper while running the fax in reverse. It does a good job of pulling a breeze thru the camper.
