We have the Coby dvd player in our ST30BH. When we watch a dvd, it will be fine for a while and then the surround sound freezes up and all we get is buzz. The movie itself conintues to play. We have to stop the dvd, turn it on, and try to find where we left off. It will work again for a while and then the same thing happens. It's not the dvd because it happens with any dvd we try. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Jeannie

It sounds like a bad player. Could be heat building up in the player or being trapped in the Entertainment Center (cubby). You might try a small fan blowing on theplayer to help isolate the issue.

I would agree with Stan. They install about the cheapest DVD and TV they can get. Neither one of ours worked when we bought our trailer.

The best fix for this is to throw this piece of crap as far as you can and replace it. I would not wast your time getting it replaced as they are all junk. This is my bigest gripe with our camper. Not sure how much Crossroads pays for these but I hope it's not much.

My camper is still under the 2 year warranty. Do you think the dvd player would be covered?

There have been a few that have replaced the standard DVD through Crossroads and their dealers under warantee. There have been more who have just bought new ones. Talk to your dealer.

Does the surround sound only work with the DVD player? Why not when the regular TV is playing? Or is this the way it is set up to be?

In order for the suround sound to work the tv would have to go thru the dvd player.

I do have the TV hooked up there the DVD player. I have played around with it and still nothing. The dealer has no clue about it either. Sounds like everyone must have the same type of Player and TV. The cheap ones. LOL!

OK, I think it would have to be Cable or Sat for you to get sound thru the DVD. I think ?? I don't realy use ours. I watched a movie thru it two weeks ago ( it was raining ) I thought it sounded like crap ,,,,, But it's a camper I'm not realy complaining about the sound.

They're trash. CR stopped using them and went back to a Jensen - which is actually a fairly decent model for a RV. CR likely will replace it for you, but it'll be another Coby. We went out and purchased a similar model made by Sony for a customer this past week for less than $80.

Thanks. I dropped the camper off at the dealer this week with some minor warranty issues. I will pick it up next week so will see what they decided to do then. They have always taken pretty good care of me so I hope they take care of this problem.
