Crossroads bought by Keystone?

While trying to order parts for our 2011 ST25RB, I was told by our Crossroads dealer that Crossroads is now part of Keystone and that when they converted Crossroads parts schematics to Keystone, the only part schematics that were converted were for trailers 2013 and newer. This sounds crazy but it would explain why I have tried for 2 weeks to get the correct parts from our dealer. This dealer has been a Crossroads dealer for many years. Has anyone heard of this or am I just the last one to know? If true, and your CR camper is older than 2013, good luck getting parts.

I was told yesterday by a sales rep at Crossroads that the 'merger' with Keystone took place on January 1st. The switch back to a 1 yr warranty was so that the Crossroads brands would match the warranty of all Keystone brands. Quality control and building processes were also aligned to match what Keystone used. This is my interpretation of what the rep told me.

I have a 2017 Sunset trail built 10/16. It has the new/different front cap and I didn't know why other 2017s had a different one. People told me it was because of Keystone taking over production of Crossroads but the data plate still says Crossroads. And they are all owned by Thor. By the way I asked my dealer and he had no clue about any of it.

I believe it's more of a management move then anything. Just got email from Crossroads president Ryan Juday and it's the same person since last year.

Crossroads bought by Keystone?

Thanks to all for replying. I ordered a part from our dealer about 1 year ago and all I had to furnish was the VIN number of our 2011 ST25RB and I got the right part within a few days.
In this last scenario, the dealer said that Crossroads/Keystone could not find my VIN. That's when I was told that VIN's older than 2013 were not converted in the transition to Keystone. As a retired IT specialist, I can see reasons why the older campers were not converted, none of them good reasons especially since the older the camper, the more parts it will need. This is troublesome.

Called CR customer service today. Although the young lady was very nice, I never got through. She finally put me through to a line that was holding for Keystone/Dutchman. Didn't think they would be of help, so I hung up.

I called Crossroads yesterday to talk to a Lead Retail Advisor I had been in contact with via email over an ongoing issue. When choosing the Crossroads option, was hung up on 4 times. When finally getting through, put on hold and told he was on the phone with another client. Left my name and number and nothing. I am very let down by my whole Crossroads experience. Wish I never bought this 5th wheel.

We've been looking at new fifth wheels. With the service we've gotten from CR, it definitely won't be one of their units. They've never been of any help to me. In fact, any Thor brand won't be on the list of possible units.

Sorry guys for all of your bad experiences, but good luck in finding a brand, make, manufacturer that be will any better. BTW, Thor owns the majority of all the others.

So everyone should be ok with poor quality, bad service, lack of concern from the manufacturer on items failing, items failing putting your family in danger?

I am not on board with that at all. I think we need to inform as many potential buyers so they can affect them where it hurts. In sales!

I have found this to almost be criminal. If a car company acted like Cruiser/Crossroads/Thor they would be under government control by now.

I agree. The law for the auto industry states that mfgrs must maintain a parts inventory for 10 years, at least that was the law last time I checked. This is gross negligence.

No, I'm as aggravated as you of the total lack of pride in workmanship in ALL rvs, just stating that I don't think it will be a damn bit better with some other brand, the same demographic area of folks put all of them together & there's only 2 things they give a sh## about, payday & quitting time. I've found over the years that I can fix mine faster, better & with more pride than any knucklehead at a dealership.

Danny says it perfectly again above!

Best thing that happened to ours is that the warrantee ran out. Now there is no thought involved.... I fix everything myself and I know it is done right the first time!

By now one would think there might be an attorney / owner on one of the 3 CR or RW sites I visit that would step up to answer questions on what we can all do to insist Thor changes it's quality... Wishful thinking and will never happen. We are always the ones that end of paying!!

The whole RV industry is a mess. Your options are very limited. You either get Thor or Forest River and that's about it. We have had two Rockwoods and they were about the same as our Sunset trail. You may get better quality and workmanship if you spend 80 or 100 thousand dollars. That's what the Rockwood dealer has the nerve to tell me when I brought mine in for warranty work.

I tend to agree. I have made multiple attempts just to find what vendors they use for certain parts. They always want to tell me they don't sell to the public. I know that, I just want to know what brand it is where I can buy it where I can repair it. That was the point of my post about the black tank flush.

Personally, I think customer service has gone from bad to worse. I've owned a Keystone too.....they ain't no better!
