Has anyone had your rear day/night blind cords frey and break after just a couple of uses? Also if there is a site that shows how to re-string them or if it is just as cheep to get it repaired? Thanks. We are on the road in Maine heading for Canada.

Howdy

we've had the same problem with our rear shade & 2 others. Had the dealer re-string 2 of them 1 is ok now but the other(the large rear)was strung wrong. This was last fall! Dealer ordered 2 new shades from Crossroads & we are still waiting for them!!

The reason they fray & break is from too much tension on the strings.

There are sites that describe how to re-string... the smaller ones I would try the larger ones no.

Hope this helps

Cal

I had the same problem and found this site:http://www.blindrepaircord.com/. I ordered a repair kit from them and managed to fix mine. The kit did come with good instructions, so that helped. It was not as hard as I had feared.

I dissagree with the too much tension on the strings excuse they re did our back one and i made them so loose ya have to be careful putting them up i also used window chord wax on every chord in the whole camper!!! i pointed out several wearing chords wen they fixed the back one they should have used brass grommets in the shades !! Now another one broke and there is no wat warenty or not that im taking this back to the dealer im seeing custom blinds being made fot the whole camper !!!!! Ps the new back one (2 months old is half way through allready)

Sounds like they really need to re-think the day/night blinds. Thanks for the input.
