I have Direct TV with HD, DVR and I was wondering if I was ever camping in an area that I could not get a signal because of trees would I still be able to watch recorded shows off of my DVR ???

Thanks for your help...

I know with my dish network receiver, when it doesn't have signal because of storms or something it just sits on the searching for signal screen and I can't even get it to switch to an antenna to watch local tv or switch it to the dvr.

You could test it by unscrewing the satellite in cable.

I haven't done it, but I am pretty sure the answer is yes you can still watch recorded programs since they are on the recorder and will stay even w/o power. Â*When the receiver can't find a signal, you have to hit the "list" or "menu" button, depending on model, to cancel the setup mode. Â*We have stuff that was recorded months ago on other trips that we will watch when nothing good is available. Â*
