Dishes
We are newbies and are wondering what you all use for plates and such. Not wanting to eat from paper all the time.

We are big fans of paper.
Eliminates a lot of clean up after the meal.

Tupperware
We have an old set of Tupperware dinnerware. They are so old they are vintage now. We use the plates and bowls. I'm sure the mugs are somewhere around the house but we don't use them.
These things are indestructible. We use them when we don't use paper or plastic. The nice thing about them is they are heavy and don't have a completely plastic feel. I don't even think they show knife marks. Not sure if Tupperware is still into dinnerware. My wife used to be a dealer so we have a lot of it.

The cheap $1 store dishes we used in the old camper went all the way back to our pop-up days so we pitched them in favor of new ones. We found some pretty sturdy melamine plates, cereal bowls, and a couple of mixing bowls at Big Lots that were very reasonable. We're still looking for mugs and drinking glasses that we like, so we're using a few from the house until then. We really don't want anything breakable in the camper so it's just a matter of being patient until we find something that fits the bill.

Use whatever you like as long as it's lightweight & pretty much unbreakable. My SIL takes her nice china, yea loads/unloads each trip, & can't figure out why at every stop there's broken dish of some sort. DUH!

It is getting harder to find good melamine dinnerware these days. We have a set that my wife inherited from her grandma almost 25 years ago that is, for the most part, still going strong.

We've used Corelle by Corning. Fairly light weight and haven't broken a piece in 22 years of RV'ing.

anything except glass. If glass breaks, you will never get it all. We are bare footed most time in the motor coach and don't need glass shards in our feet, much less in the puppy paws. However, we do have real glass wine glasses.

I have a set of melamine dishes. They are light-weight and strong. You are not supposed to use them in the microwave however.

X2 on the Corelle plates and bowls. We use some rubberized shelving material between them and have never had a broken one yet.

We've picked up various sets of melamine plates at Target & Wal-Mart over the years.
We also stock paper plates for longer boondocking trips when we don't want to waste water on dishes.
Thirdly we have a big pack of good disposable plates and foil pans for potlucks. We seem to have a lot of potlucks with the folks we camp with.
