Hey guys,

I asked on RV.net but figured Id get all your opinions too on this.

I have a Dometic RM 2862 fridge and was wondering what should the temp be inside the fridge? Also what is the Climate Control button for, do I leave it on or off I live in MI and it is pretty humid in the summer.

ThanksEdited by: fixit5561

Fridge temp should be around 35 degrees. Climate control switch, I believe, is for high humidity conditions to reduce frost buildup around the door openings, seals.

I have thermometers in our fridge and freezer and the fridge normally stays around 35* to 37* and the freezer between 5* to 10*. It took a few days of messing with it to get the thermistor to the way we wanted it.

We do use the climate control switch in the Summer down here when it gets humid to stop the moisture buildup around the door seals as Dale said. Just remember if you do turn the CC switch on it draws 12v current all the time.

Hunter, what do you mean by this, messing with it, what did you do to it to make it colder with the Thermistor?

Thanks

I believe what Keith is talking about is------
There is a clip with a wire on it on one of the fins in your fridge. By sliding it up, for colder, down for warmer, you can fine tune the temperature that way.

Yes this is what I was talking about. One other thing I found that made a big difference is to make sure the thermistor is sticking out of the top of the clip about a 1/4 inch. It just took a couple of days of adjusting on it to get the temps where we wanted them. It takes a few hours between adjustments to see a difference in temps. The clip on ours is on the far right fin.
