dometic fridge

my fridge works well on shore power, freezer works good on gas, but not fridge....... with the research I've done, i'm guessing the ammonia gets hot enough to cool freezer, but by the time the ammonia gets to fridge coils, it isn't hot enough to cool fridge..... I've blown out and cleaned burner with no better results....... any ideas ?

There are several potential improvements. If your frig. is not equipped with a coil fan, then adding one will certainly help. If it is located in a slide out, then it should already have a fan. Then Dometic has very specific requirements about spacing around the coils, so download the installation manual. If spacing is too much, then air rises around the coils rather than thru the coils. Baffles may be needed especially if there is too much space on the sides of the coils.

Check the upper vent for obstructions. Finally, you might remove the frig. and add rigid foam insulation to the compartment, especially the area above the frig. CR and most manufacturers do a very poor job of insulating the compartment and therefore thermal flow over the coils is not as effective as it could be.

My guess is that if the fridge works good on electric but not on gas it sounds like a burner issue (i.e. flame not large enough). There may be an adjustment for this but I don't know where.
