Door Step Hardware

Looking for ideas on what to use to replace the hinge rivets used on the entry door steps. I had one snap this weekend rendering the stairs useless until rigged them up. So, I would like to replace them all as I'm sure time and use is making wear on them.

Maybe a hardened bolt with a shoulder. You should be able to get them at Fastentel.

I used a bolt with two nuts on the end to lock them in place. Check occasionally to make sure everything is secure. Been a year without a problem.

I used grade 8 bolts with esna nuts. Esna nuts arethose with plastic inserts. Then tightened
enough to still operate the steps. Has been working fine.

Bolts with two nuts here too. I have replaced two of them so far and more show signs the will need to be replaced soon.

Thanks all... I'll be making a trip to the local ACE Hardware to find something stainless and a grade 8. I just need to remember where i put the broken one for size reference.

I have also used the grade 8 bolt and lock nut, so far .......

I've replaced two so far with a grade 8 bolt w/ shoulder. Used double nut to secure. Can't remember the size off hand, I used a drill bit to size them up. Needed two, bought 4. The others are in my spare parts box just waiting for their turn.
