Dual Grey Water Tanks

Hey Folks! This is a question to which I think I already know the answer...but it never hurts to double check. We have two 40-gallon grey water holding tanks - one for the galley and one for the bathroom (shower & sink only, of course). They have 2 different dump valves. My question is - is there any chance that if one fills up it would overflow into the other? My hubby and my son both shower in the RV, and even though they take Navy showers, it always fills up significantly faster than the galley tank. Since we have to pull separate levers to dump them, I'm assuming there is no connection between them. But again - thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. Sure would be a nice safety feature!

Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining. We went from a 12 gallon grey tank to 80 gallons. We're seriously loving this new trailer!! Just want to keep an eye on the tanks and not have back-flow accidents.

You can if both tanks are connected to 1 drain pipe. Get one of these

and open both the valves of both tanks and water will flow between them

We also have twin tanks and salda is correct. A simple means to use all of your tank space. Just be sure to close both of these valves before emptying the black tank. Not a good thing to forget.

but 'sharing' the tanks like that really helps when no sewer hookups !!!!

Thanks for the responses. This sounds like a simple, economical solution! So do leave this new valve CLOSED and then leave both gray water tanks OPEN? Just wondering how it works. We'll look into it. Thanks again!

the 'new' vavle is closed and your two regular grey tanks valves are open and since water seeks it's own level the full tank will 'back up' into the empty grey tank...
