In range hood.
Has anybody replaced one? If so where did you get it, and was it any quieter then the old one?

Thanks Mark.
I ran across that one. There was somebody on this forum some time back that swapped out the motor and was happy with the results. For the life of me I haven't been able to find that thread.

I replaced the fan in the bathroom. Once I took it down it was easy to find a replacement. The fan motor is the same or very similar to the one in the range hood, which I also need to replace but haven't yet. The new fan in the bathroom was SO MUCH QUIETER. WOW what a difference. All I hear now is the fan blade noise, not the motor. Lloyd - keep us posted on the motor you find.

Thanks Robb. I found that thread, but you didn't state whether it did much to quiet it down. From what I gathered, it was about the same?

Lloyd, your post remind me I needed to do mine so I ordered a new motor (S545A3) from Ebay (only place I could find my part number). Should get it Wednesday. I will let you know if it meets my "quiet" specs!

Mine is a Jensen.

Lloyd - same as mine. There is also an "Elixir" name on it. The motor is also called Elixir.

I am really curious to hear what the results will be when you get a new motor in there.
Are you getting new/different fan blades with the new motor, or do you figure to use the old ones?

Hey Lloyd, this should be a little quieter, just a little squeak now and then.

Lloyd - got the new motor and it was exactly like what came out except the two wires were too short. However, When I was waiting for the part to arrive, I sprayed WD40 into the old motor and wouldn't you know the darn thing was quiet like it used to be. When I received the new motor, I temporarily hooked it up and it wasn't any quieter than my old motor now that it was lubed. SO...I reinstalled the old motor and put the new one in my RV parts bin for future use!. If I ever use it, I will have to swap the wires out but for now I am happy (although the experience cost me a few bucks. If you do need a new motor, I got mine off EBAY and the item ID number is 273183431028. Hope this helps......

That's a bummer! Sorry it didn't work out for you.
Sounds like I better break out the oil can and at least give that a try before ordering a new motor.
Thanks for the report.

This may be a little late but I replaced my original fan and light in Oct 2016 with this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The fan has 3 speeds and even on high it is very quiet, the led light has 2 settings and actually lights up the stove top.
