Extended Warranty Questions

From reading here and on other forums about various other brands, it sounds like there's a fair number of problems that commonly pop up after the warranty ends, just like with any other product.

Several people have mentioned their extended warranty being a lifesaver. Can someone educate me about these? Are they sold by the dealer? The manufacturer? Someone else?

I assume the cost is based on purchase price and length?

Any recommendations of where I should be looking for these?

I have the Good Sam warranty. If you check out the thread "Does anybody full time" you will see what the warranty covers. Like stated in my post, damage from leaks are not covered, and I am not familiar what warranty company does cover it.
