Read somwhere it was frame would be voided. I think it is simply that they are aware the bumper is not designed to carry any extra weight due to lack of rigid construction. Rather then deal with complaints of damage and or failure they add a warranty disclaimer. Easy out for the manufacture.

Right, it isn't the warranty for the entire unit that is voided, just the frame. Of course, the frame is a pretty substantial piece of the unit since it is basically the foundation. Of course, from everything I've read and heard, Lippert will look for an out on just about every warranty claim they get.

Do you carry bikes? If so, there is an old thread on here showing a bike rack mounted on the 5th wheel pin box.

I like it, but I don't have a long bed truck. Thanks anyway.

How about a roof rack like pop up campers have for bikes and put it on the top of the truck cab. with bikes off would just look like a roof rack??

Yes they are available. Most folks report they are inconvient to use because difficult to access. You may have to climb in the bed unless you are a tall person. Awkward to handle as well.

No welding to existing frame and has held up for years.

Love the bike bunk...darn thing with 5 bikes would kill me on hitch weight though..

I built one of these for the bed of my truck..this is not the exact dimensions but one i copied. I spaced it so it custom fit the bed and 5 adult mountain bikes. Also great for parking them in the garage.
