I have a 2005 CF27RL fifth wheel I recently purchased. When trying to fill the fresh water tank recently, water began running out the low point drain. When I looked under the camper, there appeared to be a threaded fitting without any cap on it. Is there only a cap missing, or is there also a shut-off valve somewhere that perhaps was left open by a previous owner? There is no detail in the useless owners manual identifying valve locations.

There is "two" 1/4 turn valves on mine. They are located in the pass thru storage compartment. Right over where the drain line goes thru the floor. I will try and find a picture for you.
The two lines you see going thru the floor have 1/4 turn valves on them. that's my low point drains. I'm not sure if yours is the same or not. Maybe somebody that has the same rig you have will chime in.

my fiver has 1/4 turn low point drains and a piece of capped plastic tubing just like you have at the drain for the fresh water tank,it is just a plastic cap that screws onto the tube end, probably can be picked up at home depot or lowes

Thanks for the reply. I too have two 1/4 turn low point drains, but they are at the front of the camper just inside the storage compartment door. But this drain is at the rear of the unit coming through the insulation; there is no shut-off valve below, so if one exists, it may be behind a panel on the small cabinet/table between my two recliners. If there isn't one there, then maybe the only thing preventing water from draining out is the missing cap for the drain line.

Well, then it sounds like all I need is a cap for the drain line. Thanks again for the responses.

I can take off the white cap and turn open the plastic end/valve until it starts to drain. When finished, I really don't need to put the cap back on as I turn it now closed. I think the caps are to help keep dirt out and be a second back up to avoid draining accidently.

My fresh water tank ONLY has the cap set-up,have on the "need to do that" is put a valve there. Whish my low point drains weren't behind a draw .

I lost my freshwater drain cap replaced it with a 1/4 turn valve that we can put on nice and snug and turn the valve when we want to drain the tank.
