I have a 2013 3612 elevation, and when we fill the fresh water tank to full ( according to the guage) and use the it only for flushing the toilet, washing dishes, and washing hands for two males--father and son--the tank rapidly goes to 1/3 full in two days of very little use. I do not understand why I am going through so much water. One of the grey tanks seems to fill up way too fast also. Is it possible that my fresh tank is leaking into the grey? If anybody has any experience with this problem please let me know how you solved it.
This is driving me insane. I just does not make sense, we are using "VERY LITTLE" water. It is not leaking to the ground, so where could it be going?
Help please!!

My initial guess is you are either using more water than you think or reading the gauge wrong. When the gauge reads 1/3, that does not necessarily mean you only have 1/3 left. It only means you have less than 2/3. Are you sure you fill it all the way full? My gauge reads full when it will still hold a bunch more water. As far as the grey filling too fast, I don't know. I do know that the bath sink and shower go into one grey tank (normally fills up quicker) and the kitchen sink goes into the other grey tank - at least that is how mine is plumbed.

Thanks for responding

I am very sure about how much water we used. we stayed at a park with bathrooms and showers, we used less than 15 gallons of water, we only used the bathroom at night (approx 3 uses), and did dishes twice about 10 pcs of dishes total

How do you fill the tank all the way full? I am afraid of what might happen if I go too far

What I did with my tank (which is suppose to be about 58 gals) was to fill it by hand using 1 gl. jugs so I would know pretty close to what it held. I filled to about half and then checked my lights on the panel. It was pretty close to accuate. Hope this helps.

Stevenrees; When filling fresh water tank turn on the water pump this allows all of the pipes to fill as well as the water heater--could be several more gallons depending on how big your WH is. If you wait to turn your pump on after you fill you use 8 to 10 gallons just to fill the system up. Stay near a facuet when filling with the pump on to open the facuet and allow air to escape the plumbing system. Both Cold water and Hot water faucets need to be opened evey few min's until water is running fairly consistenly. This happens to the cold water much sooner than to the hot water--HW has to fill the whole tank. Also make sure you get the tank all of the way full, pull the hose out of the fill tube as you are filling and let the air in the tank escape and the water to settle down a bit. Don't worry what the gauge shows ---- fill itup until water isrunning out of the fill spout. As far as your grey tank ???? I'm not sure what to say.Are you getting it drained good? Maybe you are starting out with a couple of gallons already in there? Same goes here don't worry to much about what the gauge says they are notorious for being not very accurate.Get it totally full, keep and eye on the lowest drain to see when grey water starts backing up, after doing that a time or two you will kind of figure out how much GW you can hold and will just instinctivly know.

I fill my water heater at home. Hook a hose to the city water connection and turn on the water. Open a hot water faucet in yourrig until all the air is gone. You can also open the hot and cold ateach faucet to purge the air out of all the lines. And I agree with Flyone, don't go by the fresh water tank gauge, fill it until it over flows then fill it some more. And remember if you are not parked close to level when filling the tank you are not getting it completely full.

Steven,

Congrats on the new trailer.

The two tanks are totally separate and can only drain by going through the faucets/shower. "Leaking" as suggested above, could only occur where you could view it in the shower pan or sinks.

I had to replace bothf/water tank fill lines due to cracking from age, not whatI suspect you would see from a new rig. I would check the hose clamps on both ends to be safe from leaking though.

Your fresh water tanks have an air vent in each to prevent air pockets and also over expansion of the tanks when filling. I slow my water feed down very slowly after 2/3's full to ensure I get them full.

When my rig was new, I discovered the fill vent tube was kinked! When filling water backed up so one would think tank was full. Wrong!

The only way to knew for sure what is in your tank.

Did this once to find out black tank size.

And never believe the gauges. They are a rough guide at best.
