I ran the furnace in my Zinger ZT33FK for the first time the other morning. The roof mounted AC system came on with the furnace and ran the whole time until I turned the furnace off. Warm air came out of the floor vents and cool air came out of the ceiling vents. This doesn't seem right. Why does the AC run with the furnace?

Did you have the fan switch "on" or in the "auto" position..

I can turn on my fan in the ac by turningthe fanswitch. While the furnace is running.

I wonder if you got some kind of wire short. or hooked up wrong inside the t-stat.

Had the same thing in my st25rb when the thermostat was in auto. I cycled through until it was in the off position, let everything shut down then toggled through to furnace. Only the furnace should come on.
As well be aware you may have to heat the furnace up to get ride of any residue. We had to set the thermostat to 85, open all the doors and windows and let 'er rip for about 20 min. otherwise the smell was very unpleasant and it set off our smoke alarm.

Good luck

Im not sure what the fan setting was. My thermostat has onlythree choices: fan, a/c, furnace. I set it to "furnace" and adjusted the +/- controls to set the temp. I'll have to go back and see if setting the "fan" choice prior to switching to "furnace" makes any difference. Thanks for the clue.
