I have a 10 gallon HWH; I use electric predominately and have never run out of water, and with as hot as the water gets I'm not sure I could run out of it. I have used both before but now don't see the need for that. But, having said that, if the weather stays as hot as it's been and I have to use the A/C a lot, and of course with the Fridge kicking on and off, I would think propane might be the best move, especially with only 30AMPS.

We use both. Good to use gas once in a while to keep everything working. Also, like Dan stated, better to use gas when running A/C.

We generally use both together during morning showers - you get much faster turnaround.

If you have a 50 amp service on your trailer, then running all electric shouldn't be a problem because you have 12KW of power available. It's a very different story with a 30 amp service, because you only have 3.6KW of power available. That means if you want to run the A/C, the microwave and waterheater, then you are exceeding the available power. The DW and I did it on a number of occasions. Without thinking and with the A/C going, I'd put something in the microwave, put the kettle on to make tea whichisthe limit ofour 30 amp supply. While thisis all going on, theDW wouldturn on her hair dryer andVOILA, the 30 amp breaker pops.

I have only kicked the breaker once and I do have a 30amp service. I don't know if the water heater was on or not I just know DW was running the microwave and the A/C kicked on. I was away from the camper and whenI came back she told my the power was off . But I do know that before I have alway run the water heater on electric. Because we do not really use the microwave that often.BTW I did not know you could run LP & electric at the same time. Thanks for all the help.

I go for the electric, 'cause it's included in the fee for the site. Our new Sunset Trails lets you use both at once for quick recovery, however, our older trailer didn't allow simultaneous operation, so you had to chose.

I've been to some campground sites where I can run both the AC and the HW heater at the same time, others it's not possible. Both are 30amp service, so it's probably just the breakers are getting weak? Of course, then your to using LP.

I never thought about running both for a quicker recovery. May have to try it.
