Gray Tanks
Have 2 gray tanks marked galley and gray. Assuming galley is kitchen sink and gray is shower/lavatory in bath. After 2 showers gray is still empty while galley is showing 2/3 full. Surely washing dishes for 2 days for just the 2 of us couldn't fill the galley tank already, could it?

Those idiot lights are notorious for not being correct. You could check it out by adding a measured amount of water when it gets close to full.
I have one tank that is a little goofy like that and gets to showing 2/3 full. Mine will go a long time before hitting -- full.

Could be miss wired at the indicator panel. If so, should be an easy fix to swap wires.

We ignore those indicators altogether. The sensors get gummed up and it's not worth the trouble. We know how long we can go with the tanks and go with that. This is not exclusive to Crossroads. They are pretty much all made the same way.

X2 - On Loneoak's post. This has been my experience as well. The "Geo-Method", diligently used is the best avenue I've found to extend the reliability of the censors. But at some point, one must revert back to the old and best methods; know your use, and dump accordingly.

Thanks for the info...the black tank's been reading full since we picked up the rig despite 2 dumps and a flush. But the grays were working fine for the first 2 weeks and suddenly not. DW's squeamish about water backing up in the shower or sinks so maybe I'll try pouring some dishwashing detergent in the sinks before our 4 hour trip back to the dealer next week. Maybe some sloshing around will help clean the sensors. Anyone else try that?

If you wash and rinse dishes with the water running all the time it can fill up fast. Add a long shower and could be. We also have a big basin that fits in the sink. We will usually dump it down toilet when done. We have never filled the black tank.

Look up the GEO method in our Documents section and try that for cleaning out your back tanks. Works great.

Good advice. Bought a dishpan for the kitchen sink and read the GEO method. Haven't found a source for water softener though. Where have you found it?

I found the "Water Softner" at Wal-Mart. It was the liquid type, "Calgon" brand. Worked well.

You can also use the borax powder. I dissolve in a small bucket with hot water and pour it in.

I use the Borax...It does the same thing but is cheaper than Calgon...I buy the Calgon when I use it at Big K Mart....I get the Borax at the Dollar General...
