HDTV Antenna

We have set up out new 33rl TT at our campgrounds this weekend, We are in the middle of no ware when it come to TV reception. we can only get a few PBS channels with the stock RV antenna. has anyone had any luck buying a residential antenna and hooking it up through the wiring on the rv? I have looked at one system that has a its own booster, kind of wondering if that would cause any issues? thanks in advance.

Winegard Sensar RV TV Antenna

Our camper came with this Winegard antenna. I added the HD booster to it years ago. By the looks of their picture, that booster is now part of the antenna.
Last couple of years in the fall we have camped about 75 miles (as the crow flies) from a tv station. Most of the time we have been able to pull it in. Not 100% of the time tho.

Our stock omnidirectional antenna had extremely poor reception also. I replaced it with a King Jack HDTV directional antenna which has a signal strength meter and I am very pleased with it. It was a very big improvement over the stock antenna on our Sunset Trail.

After direction of course, height is the single most important factor.
