Help..800 or 1200 trunnion bars

Need help, I order the ST32RL and trading in 2304s Rockwood. Towing my Rockwood I'm using 800 lbs bars. The Rockwood tongue weight is aprox 700 lbs...The dealer told me that those bars will be find with the Sunset Trail which has tongue weight of 998 lbs..My thinking is that I should up the bars which would be 1200 lbs....I will be pulling the trailer with a 04 Avalanche 2500. I do have air bag support on it that will help in leveling the truck out. I read a lot of post stating if the bars are to high it will just put to much stress on the trailer. Please need help before the new trailer comes in. (can't wait )

Thank Ray

You are correct. Our zinger tw is 991. You need 1200# bars.

Correct 1200, you'll bend the 800lb bars for sure!

Thanks....that what I was thinking but wasn't sure since the dealer see it would be ok and seen post on rv.net saying that it all depends on the tv susp. set ups. Still didn't make sense since it is still 1k tongue weight or more after it loaded. Any how thank you all.....

Dealers (most) don't know squat.

Vehicle suspension doesn't matter when choosing bars. If your tongue weight is heavy, you need the correct bars. Vehicle suspension and attitude affect how you set the hitch up.
