After you take the knob off with the phillips screw,there is an opaque roundish piece of plastic with 4 points that attach to washer assembly by pressure. Pry it up from the base with a small screwdriver or knife ,then that exposes the assembly you want to unscrew with a 5/8 wrench. This has the washer in it. . Look inside to see if there is debris in there ....bet there is. Mine had filings from the tank cause mfg did not install in line filter before pump.
