The wife and I just bought the Sunset Trail Reserve 33BD yesterday and LOVE it so far!!!! One question I do have though is what format does the TV need to read movies off a USB drive? I tried to plug mine in and it did recognize it was there, it also opened several folders with the correct movie titles however when I try to play one of them it just comes up an an unsupported file error. I tried to find it in the owners manual but I cant seem to locate it.

I have yet to see a smart tv that plays video. They do however show pictures if in the right formats, you need to review the TV specs to see what is supported. Usually the store shows that on their website when you bring up the product.

Actually a fair amount of them do. My Samsung which is my main TV has the ability to play most formats of movies in addition to music and pictures simply by plugging in a USB or portable HDD. It will easily play Full length Blue-ray quality with no buffer or freezing issues what so ever.

Also, if the Sansui was not able to play these files, it would not have recognized them on my stick. The owners manual does say it can play video but it does not talk about buffer rates and what format the files need to be in. Edited by: Gsxrgrizz
