Found an ez way to lubricate the cable for remote operated holding tank valves, especially the 3" black tank valve. I unscrewed the T handle and then threaded a short length of 1/2 " ID plastic tubing over the threads of the mounting base. Poured in a small amount of 3-in-1 oil and let it sit for about 5 min. Gravity did the rest and all the oil flowed down the cable. Repeated a couple more times and no more oil would flow down the cable. I used maybe 1 to 2 fluid ounces of oil.

Then decided to force more oil down the cable using an air compressor and air nozzle with minimal PSI. This was a mistake as it forced oil out the valve end of the cable and left a small puddle on the garage floor (I had the fabric underbelly open under the valve).

If this doesn't improve a stiff cable, then the problem is not in the cable, but the internal gate valve instead.

We have the same issue. I'm 230 and 5' 11" and it's all I can do to open the black valve. Interested to see if oiling the cable cures the problem.

I have made it a habit, every time I pull one of those handles open, I spray a good shot of WD-40 down them.
