the light fixture is winning
I read the suggestions.
There is no way to pull the fixture downward, because there isn't a way to get a grip. I didn't call Crossroad customer service but I did go to their website. They have a few FAQs; but if there is a way to submit a query, I missed it.
I tried to pry the lens with a tiny screwdriver without success. The lens is quite rigid and firmly resting in the fixture. I broke the point of an exactoknife in trying to get the lens out.
I looked at the websites of manufacturers of flush mount circular LED ceiling lights & found some installation instructions. They indicated that the fixture is installed/removed by twisting it CW/CCW, respectively. That makes sense & I tried again, to no avail. I had what I consider to be a good grip. Perhaps in my pre-retirement years I might have been successful.
I sort of console myself with the fact that I was just trying to remove some residue from the lenses in a couple of the fixtures. From what I have read, the LED lights will likely outlast me.
But, I don't like the idea of the light fixture winning the battle. I'm sure that most of you will understand.
