How to remove lights from awning track?

How does one remove the string lights that came with the trailer from the tracks? Do I just yank them out, or do I have to shimmy them out through an end?
The lights haven't worked for awhile and I want to use the track.

Just did mine yesterday. Used a screwdriver to go into the slot and worked it all the way along the light string to help loosen it up. Still couldn't move it so turned the slot up a bit and sprayed wd40 in the slot. Left.it overnight and then pulled it out the end with a pair of pliers until I could get my hands on it and pull. It has to come out the end as it is too big to be pulled out otherwise Several places were swelled up and burnt from the blown LEDs making it hard to pull. New one slid in easily with a helper feeding it in from the end as I pulled it along the track. Cut and spliced in the old wire connector and was good to go.

Mine is just stuck on with back to back tape. Not a track but just an indent .

Many thanks for the helpful replies. My set up is like Bald Eagles' with the lights embedded in the track. Would have much preferred the stick on system since it would have left the track open for other accessories like a sun screen.

The difference is that Carefree uses the stick on type and L CI Solera uses the lights in the slot. I too would have preferred the stick on style as the sunshade is a nice addition.

From many accounts on this web site about LED awning lights, when I decide to replace mine I think I will locate them on the camper side wall under the awning instead of on the awning barrel itself...Reason being I have had them replaced twice already and both sets have not lasted long mounted on the awning...Many other campers have experienced the same problem and have moved their replacement LED's on the side wall under the awning, and have reported better results...

Reminder... the bugs follow the lights. I am considering the opposite. Bugs swarm the lights and you can’t get into your camper w/o letting several in.

For the same reason that bug lights do not attract insects. LED lights emit very little light in the UV spectrum. LEDs also emit little heat from their light source, further reducing their attractiveness to bugs. LED light bulb should attract fewer insects than a typical incandescent light, it can still attract quite a few bugs.

My dealer had one in stock. I don't recommend the OE part though. Had issues with mine the second time I used it , LEDs were intermittent sometimes on, sometimes only half working .
Take others advice and buy aftermarket and install on trailer below awning. A bit more work but you will be happier
