It had to happen eventually!

We have been so fortunate over the years to not have experienced too much as far as occurrences are concerned. But our latest extended road trip brought with it just about everything we have not had happen.

List goes like this:
Day 2 - Broken water line
- Flood due to broken water line
Day 10 - Broken back-flow valve causing water leak causing flood
Day 13 - Heat ducts flooded due to flood from broken back-flow valve
Day 23 - Water connection leaked.
Day 40 - Missing black tank cap due to it coming off during a turn that caught
the curb (don't ask, I can't explain it either).
Day 41 - Broken key in door lock and locked out of RV. Key broke off because
"SOMEONE" wasn't paying attention and used the wrong key
.
Day 42 - Tire blow-out on RV with only 10 miles to go to our destination.
Discovered no lug wrench and jack did not work. Called AAA!!
Day 51 - Flood due to clogged grey tank

I deserve a trophy!!!!!

First of all I’m jealous because you camped 40+ days and I’m in 30 degree weather and the winds blowing 30+ MPH. But I’m sorry for all the problems that just plain sucks.

Appreciate it. But I chalk it up to experience and notches in the belt!

Main thing is you're safe, hopefully you can repair everything yourself and you're discovering the Rving is a dirty business. Seems like when you own an rv, you got to bring your workshop along with all the tools, and lots of paper towels.
Wish you the best in getting it all straightened out and back in tip tip shape.

Everything was fixed as it happened. Although at the time it was frustrating and brought a bit of anger with it, it was an experience. We are looking forward to the next trip which is in another 38 days.

Yup. Exactly. Sometimes good trips turn bad, but every trip is a good one when you get home safe and enjoyed it anyway.

Just found a broken drain valve. This is almost getting to be like "Let's see what we can find next".

I also forgot to mention the damage from the blown tire. Gotta repair that as well.

This was a business trip that enabled us to use our RV. So to make you even more jealous we didn't pay for anything for the 8 week trip. Well, no out of pocket stuff. We paid with frustration, aggravation and a bit of blood, sweat and tears. But like I said, it's not so bad because we did enjoy it.

This is why Industrial Arts (shop class) should be taught in all schools. I can't even add all up all the money I saved doing almost all work and repairs, (house, car rv, etc) myself.
BTW, I am an Industrial/ Technical Arts teacher. More students should be taking these courses.

I agree. I took shop in school. But I also am one of those who spends more time trying to figure out how stuff works than anything else. I would rather do repairs myself than let someone else do it. I'm like Biggles607 and like hands on stuff. So when stuff happens it really isn't so bad because I know pretty quick what's wrong and how to fix it.
