Well - TireCo decided to replace one of my tires due to abnormal wear.

Where is the safest place to jack the camper? Someone said under the actual frame then someone else said at the nearest point to the tire under the axles hanger.

What's safe?

When we had new tires installed they jacked up each tire at the axle.

My manual said not to jack trailer using the axles, so I called the dealer and they advised me to put jack under the flex mounts between the two tires.

I do not think that would be a good idea. I think that you could damage the slide by putting too much pressure on it. Remember that the slides are not designed to lift

Before changing a Mission tire that self destructed, I called Randy @ Crossroads and he said jack it right on the axial between the U-bolts. I've always gotten great information when I called Crossroads.

I had to change a tire this past week end that went flat while in camp. I used my bottle jack between the U-bolts. Premonition... I had just bought it the week before to keep in the trailer so I wouldn't have to pull out the truck jack if I had flat on the trailer... Now, ifI had just had a premonition about the firein our office building while I was away... But that is another story for another day...

You must have had a real good premonition about the fire, after all you were caping concerned about a flat tire

To really be safe, I put a small metal bar resting on the bottoms of the U bolts, and place the bottle jack on the bar.

This prevents direct contact with the axle and distributes the pressure to 2 points on the axle tube.

Probably overkill.

You took the words out of my mouth, this is what I did but I tacked on a short piece of pipe to the plate to hold my jack head.

I would be very careful putting any thing in between the jack an axle. If you don't have it pretty square with each other it could come flying out of there. Probably do some damage when it hit you.
