We were in 95 degree temperatures and when we would come back to the trailer around 5:00, the 5er would be at 87 degrees with the air conditioner set at 78 degrees. Once the sun was down it would finally go back down to 79. There were 4 of us in the 5er. Does most people have 2 air conditioners with a trailer this size or are you able to keep the temperature down with 1 air conditioner, ours is 15,000 btu unit?

I have 4 slides, and both my A/C units are 15K, and yes we run them both most of the time, they cycle differently, and it seems they work less ...I had a 33' before this one and we tried one A/C...to stuffy, so I had the 2nd unit installed in that unit.....put in another unit and you won't be sorry

It used to be a rule of thumb that anything, be it trailer or motorhome, over 30 feet would really require 2 air conditioners. That was before ducting became common but I think it's still about right since we're dealing with cubic feet. This is especially true when slideouts are figured in with their extra cu ft.

In 95* temps 2 AC units is the way to go. We have a 15k in the living area and a 13.5k in the bedroom.

Thanks, I was thinking that the second ac would be required.

Hunter, the 13.5 k in the bedroom seems to belarge enough?

Can someone tell me where is the best and least costly place to make this purchase?

Your trailer is pretty much the same size as ours and the same 3 slide outs. I think you would be fine with a 13.5k in the bedroom. We are looking at new units a little larger than what we have now and we will be going to dual pane windows and 2 - 15k AC units w/heat pumps on the next one. Edited by: Hunter11
