Kitchen faucet shooting out water

When I turned on my kitchen faucet today water came shooting out the faucet where it threads into the base; it sprayed a good 5 foot into the kitchen. We are thinking it is a pressure issue and not a faucet problem? We do not have a regulator on but will soon be ordering one. What brand does anyone have and recommend! Thanks for any suggestions on the situation.

Do a search as this was discussed just recently on this forum. I believe the one people prefer is an adjustable one from amazon. As far as the kitchen faucet goes, I think you need a new faucet.

Check and see if you need a new gasket for the faucet. Might be a cheap fix.

We use the adjustable water pressure regulator from Amazon also. Also had a problem with the kitchen faucet that the water neck came off. All it was, was the threaded nut came loose, tightened it back down and periodically check it now. From all the traveling, it comes loose.

Yes that is what this one did also. However when we unscrewed the neck and took it off, the split washer looked as though it was very loose and didn’t seem to want to stay in place when we tried to put the neck back on. We did just order the regulator so hoping that is the solution. Thank you

I agree my faucet neck comes loose all the time just need to tighten it up every once and a while...I also have an adjustable pressure regulator for the water & a surge guard for the electric...

To eliminate the faucet nut from being unscrewed just put one wrap of teflon tape around the thread, then tighten. That will fix that from being a problem again. It's the traveling that allows it to vibrate itself loose.
