Leveling RV
We have a lake front lot which has a bad slope. In Order to level the trailer front to back we must lower the front to where it almost touches the ground. Wondering what the thoughts are about placing 8x8x16 blocks which sit on flat concrete 18x18x2 inc stepping stones. Our trailer is a 35 ft Crossroads 5th wheel. Would really like to have the front higher so I am not on my hands and knees in order to access the front storage
Looking for ideas

If you are asking if you can use "concrete blocks" to level the camper and raise the front higher the answer would be yes. It is done all the time with mobile homes. Is this a permanent spot or do you plan to move it ever so often? If you do not plan to move it with it being 35 foot long plan on 4 to 5 piers or stacks of blocks per side and take the tires off. Then it should be rock solid.
If you plan to move it often then you would have to build "ramps" how ever high you want to raise the front. If say you want to raise the front a foot then you build ramps at least a foot tall then when you back on them and you level the front will be about a foot higher. Just make sure you block the tires GOOD.
What ever you do GOOD LUCK !
Also welcome from Mo.

dagst1 I believe it's the rear of the camper that is sitting low. He would have to build a ramp to raise the rear end so the front end is not so close to the ground.

Leveling RV
Appreciate the timely assistance. How do you feel about the tires resting on concrete blocks in order to raise the front of the trailer. At this lake site we are not permitted to remove the tires

Your pictures describe what I am saying. They want the front to be higher so the wheels which are down hill would have to raise up like in drawings. Another option if permitted would be to build "u" shaped wall and fill it with gravel to raise the wheels which would raise the front. As for putting the tires on the concrete pads as long as they are solid that should work.

Is this a long term rental site or short term..??? If this is a long term lease I have no suggestions...If it is short term rental I would check on moving to another site if possible...Not trying to be a wise guy just looking at it through the eyes of a 70 year old...
PS...Mark I like the drawing...

I would level out the land of its your lot or you're there long term. I hired Mexican landscapers for my backyard that sloped over 4 feet. Took a few days. But well worth it. My fiance wanted to be able to do yoga in the backyard.
So much for buying a house on a hill. Haha.

Biggles, time to watch adult movies. Well, not "adult" movies, but you know what I mean.

- How much higher do you want to go?
- Stacking 8 x 8 x 16 blocks 1 high might be ok, but over that go to the 12 x 8 x 16 blocks. Pyramiding them will increase stability. Plan on using plywood or something like that to tie the pyramid together.
- Do you have a place to store them? It may take quite a number of blocks to build a wall to span the space of two tires and to use 2 x 16 x 16 blocks for creating a ramp to raise it 6 or 12 inches.
- How will you prevent the RV from rolling off the blocks?
- Be sure to place blocks with holes up and down for strength.

Leveling rv
Have you considered terracing parallel to hill side with back hoe? Retaining wall up hill would be needed. Skip

Raising the trailer will increase the overall height which may require additional steps to gain access to the 5th.

Not raising trailer. Creating flat location. No blocking needed.

He is only renting the site and I'm sure the owner of the site does not want any movement of soil. He's probably stuck with the way the site exists now.

If renting or leasing not much you can do without approval of the owner. Maybe check with them and offer to pay for any improvements yourself as long as you are guaranteed the same spot year after year. Or see if there is a different spot not so steep.
