As per the manufacturers instructions, I was able to remove a scratch on my countertop with a micro fine cleaning/scouring pad. Couldn't find Scotch Brite only Norton brand. Anyway, the area I repaired is now dull compared to the remaining section. Can anyone suggest or has anyone used a product (polishing compound, wax, glaze) that I can use to bring back the lustre. These countertops are a curse!

We use "Gel Gloss" to clean them but you don't use too much and not too often as it can create a buildup. Will remove small surface scratches and swirls when you buff it with a dry cloth after spraying it on and spreading it lightly like wax until it hazes. You can also find it in a liquid form and not just aerosol.

The pros use a slightly diluted acetone and a soft buffer (electric) to take our scratches. Most types of scotch brite are abrasive and will leave tiny scratches.

Can be purchased at Home Depot, etc. Edited by: WildWildWest

Thanks Wildwildwest. Picked up liquid Gel Gloss and it seemed to restore the lustre.

I have used an automotive clear coat polishing compound with good results to restore the shine on our corian countertop.
