I have recently had a few close calls with low bridges that could easily have resulted in a bad accident.

Does anyone know of a good GPS system or add on for my Garmin that would give a low bridge warning?

Something like a speed camera POI list could work, but I can't seem to find anything.

Many thanks.

I can't help you with the GPS system; however, here is a website that lists low clearance bridges and other information: http://www.aitaonline.com/Info/Low%20Clearances.html.

We have a Garmin and it has optional settings. One for cars, trucks or motorcycle I believe.

I have ours set on trucks and so far have not been faced with a low overpass. That could be an embarrassing and ugly situation. You might check yours out under settings and see if it helps. Good luck and happy camping.

Thanks everyone for your helpful advice.

I have decided to try a POI database that has been recommended to me on several forums.

You can download it at http://www.lowclearances.com

It looks really good.

Thanks again.
