Lube the slide

I have a 2014 Crossroads Sunset Trail 26RB. I know the manual for the Schwintec slide says not to lube it. I'm just curious if anyone does. Mine seems to get slower everytime I use it. And in my opinion whoever designed that slide system should be drawn and quartered.
