This is a fairly minor complaint in the overall scheme of things, however it bugs me...the sheet metal cover for the stove burners doesn't sit down properly. It appears that there are three brackets which are supposed to catch on one of the grates to hold the cover flat and in place. What happens is that the brackets don't quite engage and the cover ends up sitting high in the center at the hinge. I'm thinking that those brackets need to be bent ever so slightly so that they will engage the grate. I'm looking for some advise as I don't want to do this if there is a better solution. Am I doing something wrong???

Thanks,

PS This is the only problem I have been able to find on our new 5er and I've been looking hard, so I count myself very lucky!

Thanks,

On both of our Cruisers, as you push the cover down, you push it to the rear of the stove and it snaps down into place.

I got tired of fussing with the cover so I removed it completely.

Like Stan, we removed ours and replaced with a large plastic like cutting board from Walmart. Used double sided tape to secure rubberized shelf liner to the bottom side so it rides in place. Works like a champ without the hassle of the original metal folding cover. Lifts on and off an can be placed out of the way.
