mastertrack tire failure

had 6k miles on my 2011 27' fifth wheel rlx with mastertrack tires and lost all tread on right rear between el paso and van horn. have done a little research and sound like cheap tires from china are to blame for the many failures. I had 65 lbs (as required), and always have my cruise control at 60 mph (no high speed travel). can't decide to go with 4 new tires or just replace one. tread is like new, ie no signs of wear or cracking.

Take it from some one who has been there replace all of them If you have 16 inch tires go with a LT with at least an E rating

27 footer, came with 15" wheels, i'm sure I can find some good 15" tires with "E" load rating

Mine came with 15 in. tires also. I switched to 16 in. wheels and E rated LT tires.

Been lucky with our tires, 30k plus in the last year and just barely starting to show the wear indicators. I stay within the 60-65 mph range especially if its hot. Occasionally bump it up a little if its cool. Keep the tires inflated. We have had the the rear axle replaced (alignment problem) that wore the thread off the outside one tire that was replaced by Lippert/Crossroads.

Yes I feel we have been lucky. My biggest problem is what to replace them with. I know you can go to a stronger tire, but what brand. I used to use "Denams" brand, not sure on the spelling. They went out of business during the recession.

Just my 2 cents.

That's what I plan to do when I replace my tires. I also want a little taller tire to help raise the trailer a little.

The first thing I did was replace mine. No way I'll trust my investment to a product "made in China"

Well i take it you didn't go with ST tires. All you can find out there are Chinese, Korean, or Thailand produced tires.

I don't think there is a domestic ST tire left? Even Marathons now offshore.

I have often seen that ST China bombs should be replaced in 3-4 yrs regardless of wear. I would replace all 4.

I few years back I replaced mine with Goodyear Marathons. They were stamped made in USA.

Yes, I understand the Marathons were produced again in the US for a couple of years but have since again, gone offshore.

Many Mfg's now put the mfg location on the bead. You can see it when not mounted but it's hidden when mounted on the rim.

I've not had any trouble with Goodyear Marathons made in China. I hate that anything is made in China, but with proper care, I have had decent service.

The most important thing to note here is that the OP's tires were 3 years old, correct? 3 to 5 years is a good life for most trailer tires, especially if it isn't kept inside. Dry rot is what normally gets them, and not wear.
