I replaced the conventional mattress that came with the 5er with a dual chamber air bed. It has His-and-Hers individual controls. The pump sits nicely under the platform. A little modification to the platform and pedestal to accommodate the hoses going to the pump and the controls, and we will have the same comfortable mattress in the 5er that we have in our home and on our boat. The controls have a digital pressure readout and a memory setting so you can always get to your favorite pressure. The quality of the mattress is very impressive, especially since it was only $918.00 out the door!

Congrats...this is how these things get started, starts with one mod, then pretty soon you are attending meetings on how to deal with your addiction That was the first mod on my trailer as well, swapped out the junker with a Verlo from the house. So, basically, the mattress in the camper is better than what I currently have in the house....

I think that was the best thing we did too! A quality residential mattress is definitely worth the money!
