New ST 331BH Leaking through Outdoor Kitchen

We took our new Sunset Trail 331BH on its maiden voyage this past weekend. To our surprise i had to fix many small items from the first long "shake down" trip it went on. We had a heavy 4" rain storm on Friday night and to our surprise we had a large puddle in the bunkhouse bedroom that seemed to grow all night. After 4 bath towels i was able to stop the "Flow" and found the issue on saturday morning. It appears that the sealant applied between the metal outdoor kitchen frame and the wall was not attached. I applied a piece of Gorilla clear repair tape and tested on sunday's rain. The results were much better however, there is a hole with no gasket on the center hinge and this still allows water in the outdoor kitchen lower channel which flows under the wall and into the bedroom. Has anyone else experienced this? We have another trip in two weeks and the dealer says they are 3 week behind. We currently have 11 items that need to be repaired on our 2018 from the first trip and i am sure we will find many more in a couple weeks.

I had a roof leak on our new 289qb on the first trip but it was the rear wall seal where it met the roof.

Good luck getting yours fixed. QC seems to be awful.

Thanks for the information on your experience. I just climbed up the ladder and sure enough where the roof seals to the back frame on the corner right above the outdoor kitchen the seal has a gap that would let copious amounts of water in. I put some temp seal tape over it and i am taking it in tomorrow.

Dicor self leveling lap sealant will become your friend for the roof issues.

You are going to find a lot of small things that you will have to fix yourself. Quality on the line is non existent. Like you found out on the sealant....and they say they put all trailers thru a rain tunnel.

I can definitely tell the quality on the line is lacking. We have a trip on the 22nd and i am concerned with taking this in for warranty work and not seeing it for a month. I may just do it myself and then have them check the wall later.

Always carry Eternabond tape with you. It's a life saver. Better then caulk.

We purchased the same camper at the beginning of May. Our shower has been leaking. It seems to leak between the track and base. I noticed no silicone had been applied where they couldn't get the caulk gun in there with the doors open. I removed the doors and resealed the entire track. It definitely helped, but there is still a place where the water is finding its way out. I will be doing some more investigating this weekend.
