Gcross1468 - Do you have the 2nd A/C in the bedroom? Did you order it from CR or had it installed later? Does the main A/C cool the complete camper good enough?
Thanks John

Originally our camper came with just the main A/C in the living room. I believe that is a 13.5k unit. We had the bedroom unit installed at the end of our 1st year (last October). The single A/C unit kept up with keeping the camper cool for the most part...NOT if it were an extended 3 or 4 days of high temps. The bedroom was always much warmer than the rest of the camper, to the point of not being comfortable. That's why we decided with the move to Alabama coming up, to have the 2nd unit installed in the bedroom. It's a smaller unit and I think it's 10k BTU? I honestly don't remember if the units are 15k and 13.5k or if they are 13.5k and 10k.

Just a side note to this conversation. We're currently full-time in our camper here in Alabama. We're in the process of purchasing a home down here but the closing isn't until April 25th, so "a camping we will go". The camper is very comfortable with plenty of room and the temps have been in the low 70's, so life is great right now. I know our next camper will definitely have the washer/dryer hook up as well as the 6 point stabilizer/leveler system. We're pretty solid right now but I'm sure it would be better with more legs down on the ground.

Thanks. I know that the 2014 comes with a 15K in the main compartment. We'll just have to see how it does this year. Good luck with the move. I don't blame you for wanting to get away from this cold. I've had enough myself. The ways the temps have been I don't know if we will ever use the A/C this year.. I would love to be in the position to make the move also. Not in the cards yet.

Did the 2014 model change the nose color to a cream or is it still the dark brown? That has a pretty big influence on the temp in the bedroom as well.

I'm not sure. I've heard that it's been changed because of the fading issue. Won't know until it comes in. Has yours shown any signs of fading?

None at all. Ours is only a year old and Vermont didn't see a whole bunch of sunshine last year, so we'll see what happens this year here in Alabama. We did give it a good coating of Mother's Carnauba Wax though. Hopefully that will stop it from fading.

He said to put a piece of plywood w/carpet backing on the roof before walking on it. I also asked him about covering the trailer during the winter and the website states not to use a cover. He said to cover the A/C unit only. I asked how do I get to the unit if I can't walk on the roof . This is begining to make me wonder if I should cancel my order.. but the wife and I really like the layout. I guess I'll have to hope for the best.

There is a reason Sunset Trail trailers are some of the lightest in the industry. I'm willing to take that trade-off.

The gas I save towing cross country pays for a good chunk of my indoor winter storage..

Earlier in this thread there was a discussion on whether or not the ST roofs have steel trusses. I can verify my 2011 ST 30RE has steel roof trusses. I removed the inner trim on my bathroom fan as I am going to replace the worthless fan with a Fantastic unit. I was also looking around trying to decide if I could fish a wire to the bedroom vent when I noticed the roof trusses are indeed steel.

Not really. I've never had that issue.
