No door window

We went to a dealer open house this past weekend and we were looking at the new Sunset Trail models and the entry doors did not have windows in them. I wonder why this is? Cost savings? I did not care for it, it just doesn’t look right without a window in the doors.

I really don’t care for the windows anyway in the door because you can’t see out of them but they do let light in however.

My bathroom door to the outside has a window, third camping trip I see a group next to me gathering a looking towards that door. So I am thinking hmmm wonder what is going on. So I take my dog for a walk and realize they can see my wife's image through the window. Now luckily she takes really good care of herself ( don't tell her, but yes I married out of my league). So from that point on I have something blocking both windows. And if your wondering the neighboring wives did not gather to see me in the shower.

if you have your heart set on a unit that doesn't have a window in the door, you can always add one. There is one in particular that I bought and like. I am replacing the original frosted window in mine with one with tinted glass and a blind integrated into the inside window frame.
We don't have many windows on the door side of our RV, and we want to be able to see out, check on the dog, etc. And, be able to have privacy when desired.
This is a rather clever designed window replacement IMO, and has a template and instructions to install it in a door with no window if needed.
Unfortunately, I haven't installed it yet, we still have snow in Minnesota, and my unit is still buried.
The brand name is 'Slim Shade', available everywhere.
If anybody has installed one, I'd love to hear how it's working out.

I installed one two seasons ago in our bedroom door. Easy to install if you're just replacing a window. I like it a lot for the bedroom as the glass is tinted and the shade blocks a lot of the remaining light. Only negative I can see is that you have to open the door and the screen door to raise and lower the shade as the screen door is in the way. No biggee. On another brand, I saw a little handle that is attached to the bottom of the shade mechanism. It hangs down into the area near the door handle, and you can operate the shade with it. I am going to fabricate something like that.
We'll see how it goes.

You can't see out of mine either, but it is a pretty stained glass picture.

I use contact paper on my door window. Frosted glass so you could not see out but lets in more daylight than what I want sometimes. Contact paper actually matches my countertop and just filters the light a little more. Also used the same thing on my skylight over island sink area. Helps to keep things a little cooler during the summer. I am at NC coast so summers can get rather intense.

I would love to see pictures when you do this. We also have the window with the shade. We love it, but, as you said, you have to open the door to close/open the blind.
