No TV Reception

We have always been disappointed with the lack of reception with our 2011 25RB. We don't care to watch that much TV when we camp but it would be nice to catch up on some news after a week or so of camping. We notice when we camp with our relatives that have a 2 year old Rpod, they get great reception and multiple channels when camping next to us. We are lucky to get one or two channels, most often no channels. The booster is on. We don't watch enough TV to justify a dish and the campgrounds rarely have cable. Is lack of reception a common problem? Are there better antennas? Thanks.

What do you have for an antenna?

Lloyd - the antenna is a fixed Jensen, no crank, no rotation.

Have not heard good things about that antenna. That may be your problem.

Take the booster plate off and tighten all conectors...with pliers on the coax end. and anywhere there is a connector. may have to open the antenna up on the roof. there is one there. these assemblers do not tighten things up that need tightening and over tighten things that do not...ie: the shower skylight.

On second thought...get a 50' coax(or whatever length) and hook your Tv to your relatives antenna (behind their Tv) see if their antenna works with your Tv and do it the othere way...just to see if it not a tv problem.

I haven't heard to many good reports on them either. All tho, there have been some who seem to think they are OK.
Do like harley said and check out all the connectors. Make sure they are all tight. Factory has been notorious on doing a lousy job on tightening connectors properly.

I know my new Cruiser Aire I just picked up on the 9th wasn't picking up any channels from the antenna. I took off the coax plate behind the tv and the booster plate in the bedroom and checked all connections. Everything was tight. I also unscrewed the coax connections and rescrewed them back on. Then rechecked the auto scan on the tv. This time it picked up 9 channels. I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains so I think that's pretty good.
